BLUE Film Festival Kicks Off Today

Today sees the start of the Blue Film Festival in California, which showcases the world's finest ocean films and award winning marine photography along with a film makers marketplace, science and conservation seminars, international policy discussions and a robust ocean media industry conference.

Every two years ocean leaders, filmmakers, photographers, scientists, explorers, entertainment executives – and the general public-- gather in Monterey, California at BLUE to honour the best in ocean filmmaking, to learn more about the issues facing our oceans, and to collaborate on improving the future of our oceans and humanity.

The elements that make up BLUE combine to:

  • Honour the world’s best ocean films through the best-in-class film competition
  • Promote the critical dialogue between filmmakers and scientists, to inspire great films
  • Connect ocean filmmakers with the latest technology, financing and distribution resources.
